Berlin: City Hotels and Accommodation
Central Berlin is located around 9 km / 6 miles south-east of Berlin Tegel (Otto Lilienthal) Airport (TXL). Here you will find a range of accommodation, both old and new, often within easy reach of many major landmarks and attractions. Split into two main areas, the eastern and western centres, hotels are widespread throughout Berlin.
Tourists arrive in the city of Berlin throughout the year and the high season falls between May and September, when accommodation is noticeably more expensive. However, a good selection of mid-range hotels and budget pensions are particularly concentrated in western Berlin.
Those driving into the central areas of Berlin should bear in mind that many hotels do not contain parking areas or garages, and so on-street parking many be necessary, if this is possible. Although a number of notable luxury hotels are conveniently positioned alongside public car parks.
Hotels in Berlin can be especially busy during major trade fairs and events, such as the International Film Festival in February, the Love Parade each July, and the Berlin Marathon each October.
